What Does That Mean: Redeemed

Clarifying some biblical terms and common church lingo.

God created human beings, both male and female, in his image. Sinless and innocent, they lived in close relationship with God in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, after Adam’s disobedience to God, a rift between humanity and God was formed. As sin continued to propagate to the entire human race, God’s image, reflected through man, became skewed and distorted. The curse of sin needed to be broken, yet the price of restoration was impossible for humanity to pay. Thankfully, through God’s grace and unconditional love for us, he chose to be born a human (Jesus) in order to die on the cross for us and mend the rift. His sinless blood satisfied the payment for our sins and freed us from the grip of death. No longer in debt to sin and condemned to death, we can rejoice that God has restored us back to himself!
